ORANGE SKY CONFIRMED TO ROCK WITH KING'S X, IN SUPPORT OF LATEST RELEASE, 'DAT IZ VOODOO'

Port of Spain, Trinidad may not be the first city music fans think of when the discussion of 'hot rockspots' comes up. But if the sophomore effort from Orange Sky, 'Dat Iz Voodoo,' is a representation of the local talent, it may soon join the likes of New York, Seattle, and London, as the group (which is comprised of singer/lead guitarist Nigel Rojas, rhythm guitarist Joel Beazer, bassist Nicholas Rojas, keyboardist Richard Hall, and drummer Obasi Springer) will be opening up a string of Texas dates with metal legends King's X. "We have always loved King's X, some of us since the early '90s," says Rojas. "We did one opening slot for them last year, in Kentucky, and got to meet Doug and the guys personally. They put on an incredible live show and we are honored to be able to share the stage with them."

COME ON A MAGICAL JOURNEY WITH THE RHYTHM DEVILS' 'CONCERT EXPERIENCE,' AS THIS EXPERIENCE IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER CONCERT.

Certainly one of the more intriguing Grateful Dead offshoot projects is the Rhythm Devils. Led by long-time Dead drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, the duo enlisted Phish bassist Mike Gordon into their ranks in 2006 (rounding out the line-up are also guitarist Steve Kimock, percussionist Sikiru Adepoju and former Deep Banana Blackout vocalist Jen Durkin), and recently issued their first-ever DVD, 'Concert Experience.' Directed by Jeff Glixman and Jim Gentile, 'Concert Experience' is a two-DVD set (and 24 page hardcover book) - disc one features concert footage from Chicago, Illinois, and Sayerville, New Jersey recorded in October 2006, featuring all original compositions with lyrics by Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. Each song is represented visually with graphics, images, and effects that complement the music - a collection of 'video vignettes,' if you will. Disc two features behind the scenes interviews, soundcheck footage, and excerpts from various live concer
ts.

FBI Agent Shoots Neighbors Chihuahua

WACO - An FBI agent based in Waco has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

Agent Lovett Leslie "Les" Ledger, Jr. was arrested and booked into McLennan County Jail and has been released on $3,000 bond.

According to Arrest Affidavits, a county investigator dispatched to Estes Road in reference to a dog that was shot and killed.

The affidavit mentions that on February 29, Ledger shot a Chihuahua that was walking in front of his house. After being shot, the dog ran into a neighbor's yard where it died.

Ledger told witnesses that he shot dog with BB gun and must have pumped it too many times. When asked if he shot the dog, Ledger told two people involved in the investigation that he knew nothing. He later said he did in fact shoot the dog.

The FBI has confirmed to News Channel 25 on Thursday night that one of it's agents based in Waco was being investigated by the McLennan County Sheriff's Office on possible animal cruelty charges.

Ex-TROUBLE Drummer's RETRO GRAVE Recruits New String Player

RETRO GRAVE, the project led by former TROUBLE drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson, has recruited a new string player, Michael Leonard Maiewski (STASIS). Leonard is currently writing with Olson for the second RETRO GRAVE album, titled "Skulduggery", tentatively scheduled for an early 2010 release.

RETRO GRAVE's full-length debut, "Again", has just been made available via the band's official web site. Olson states, "Although the record is temporarily available through download only, it will be pressed in time for tour. I'm happy this record is complete so that I can continue writing for the second album and begin practicing for live shows."

Retro Grave is confirmed to play the 10th Anniversary SHOD festival (Stoner Hands of Doom) in Frederick, Maryland on September 5, 2009. More dates will be added.

NYC metal band Flaming Tusk releases "Abigail" EP

New York City extreme metal band Flaming Tusk has released their self-produced four song EP "Abigail" onto the internet.

Metal e-zine Chronicles of Chaos wrote the record up in their Demos section, giving it a 3.5 out of 5 and saying

"The debut EP _Abagail_ from NYC metal-heads Flaming Tusk seems to be a solid piece of music, incorporating, with ease, musical styles from a wide range of metal genres, from dashes of hardcore through to some gloomy doom. A particular stand out track is the closer song "26 Legions", a great show of all the influences the band have, in a single song, and just over nine minutes. All three of the other songs show some quality heavy metal."

Vougan, the progressive power metal band from Brazil, have struck a deal to sell copies of their debut CD, "Mind Exceeding," via online sales through www.metalmusicpromotions.com.

"Mind Exceeding" was initially released in the latter half of 2007 to a strong response in their home country of Brazil. The band have recently signed a contract with the Japanese label, Soundholic, to distribute the CD throughout Japan.

Metal Music Promotions, LLC (MMP), an independent artist development, music marketing, and band promotion company, have long been advocates of the talents of Vougan. Billed as part of the new model music industry, the company strives to assist unsigned and/or indie artists in career development. Taking the young Brazilian band under their wing, MMP have assumed the role of media contact, and U.S.A. representation for Vougan. CD sales were the next step, logically.

While the web page does make Vougan's debut CD available to many who may have never gotten the chance to purchase it, this is ny no means full scale distribution. MMP is currently researching other options, and looks to distribute "Mind Exceeding" througout The United States, Canada, and Europe in the near future.
